Forum Introduction
Under the background that low-carbon economic and social development has become an important part of China’s national development strategy, promoting low-carbon economy and developing new energy is the key component of the transition of global economic structure, and also of China’s economic rise and sustainable development. Closely related to the 12th Five-Year Plan, topics such as Internet of Things & Cloud Computing, New Energy and New Materials, biotechnology & Medical Care and Low Carbon Economy, should be highly researched on.
In order to explore the frontier of low-carbon economy related research, to share the view and experience from international environmental industry experts, and to explore investment opportunities in low-carbon industry, under the support of Chinese Embassy to UK, CSSA-UK will hold the 2011 UK-China PhD Forum “New Energy and Low-carbon Economy” at 9:00-17:00 on June 19th, 2011 at University College London (UCL). By then, UK-China related governmental officials, well-known experts and professors in related fields will all gather together.
The conference registration will be at Wilkins South Cloisters and the main forum will be held in the Cruciform Building Lecture Theatre 1(WC1E 6BT), where a lot of well-known experts will give relevant reports. And there will also be several sub-forums categorized by the topics stated above, where selected papers are reported by their authors. This high-end conference forum will not only provide you a platform where you present, discuss your point of view and pursue the true knowledge; but also provide you a stage on which you self-realize your academic talents with all the young rising academic stars!
We look forward to receiving your enthusiastic work and active participation from University of Cambridge!
