The academic division of CSSA-Cambridge plays a key role in academic communication of Chinese students and scholars at the University of Cambridge, providing a platform for them to exchange ideas and learn from a variety of professions and fields.
In 2015, the academic division started a lecture series “Cambridge Lecture Hall”, offering opportunities for outstanding scholars and students to give lectures in Cambridge. At the end of 2016, Zero Distance, an academic interview program, was launched to give insights of research experience in Chinese universities for students and scholars who wish to pursue an academic job in China in the future. The program invites scholars, especially those entitled “Thousand Talents”/“Thousand Youth Talents” for interviews, and sharing their stories in the WeChat subscription and the official website of CSSA-Cambridge. The “Academic Brunch” is a new trial this semester aiming for giving people a way to enjoy college brunches and learning new technology at the same time.
