Scientist for Medical Devices | • Play an active role in the project team by contributing creative ideas aimed at developing new medical device for screening, diagnosis and treatment. Creative ideas should result in patents that protect potential future expansion of our healthcare business.• Design and implement solutions, in collaboration with hospitals. • Test your solutions in a hospital setting. • Be up-to-date, and understand, existing literature in specific area assigned to you. • Ensure creative ideas are supported/build on existing literature. Literature reviews and outcome of experiments to be produced by candidate are made available to the Philips community in the form of Technical Reports. Education:• Master degree or PhD in either biomedical engineering or electronic engineering. The degree should be supported by publications in renowned international journals. Experience: • Having knowledge and understanding of medical devices/equipment for monitoring, diagnosis and treatment. • Preferred working experience in creating medical devices for cardiovascular diseases, respiratory diseases, women care and emergency. Scientist for MRI Coil Design | • Design, development and fabrication of RF coil prototypes• Circuit simulation and analysis • Support the development of production/test methodologies within the company, working closely with production engineering function to ensure effective transfer of new designs into production. • Create patent applications and submit publications |

Scientist for Ultrasound Image Processing | • Review existing image processing algorithms especially for ultrasound breast. The algorithms include de-noise, segmentation, feature extraction, etc.• Implement and compare algorithms, and work together with the team to develop in-house image segmentation algorithm for specific use • Work in close collaboration with clinical partner to manage and process the data and optimize the algorithms based on the clinical feedback • Generate intelligent properties and publications |

Scientist for Mechanical Engineering | The Scientist for mechanical engineeringshall be responsible for the research of new technology concepts for the whole system of home healthcare devices. |

Biomedical Engineering Scientist | • Play an active role in the project team by contributing creative ideas aimed at developing new technologies that will be used in a biomedical engineering system. The system consists of the hardware for acquiring biomedical signal from human beings and the signal processing software and is aimed to obtain a useful measurement for doctors to screening or diagnosis chronic diseases.• Design, implement, test and improve both biomedical hardware and software platforms in lab settings that demonstrate the performance of the new technology. • Prepare and execute clinical tests for the new technology in the collaborated hospital. Major challenges • Design, implementation, testing and improvement of both biomedical hardware and software, instead of only perform algorithm research and validate the algorithm • Be able to quickly ramp up in related medical field and gain corresponding clinical domain knowledge, use the gained knowledge in system development • Prove the success of the measurement system through building convincing prototypes, by yourself or in collaboration with other team members |
• Excellent research experience in the field of biomedical engineering and signal processing, as demonstrated by having obtained a PhD or MSc degree. Scientist for Clinical Informatics | • Play an active role in the project team by contributing creative ideas aimed at designing and developing healthcare IT solutions (e.g. CDS, EMR, Tele-medicine systems, etc.) for hospitals to help enhance their efficiency and the quality of their healthcare service. Creative ideas should result in patents that protect potential future expansion of our healthcare business.• Design and implement solutions, in collaboration with hospitals. • Test your solutions in a hospital setting. More specifically: • Defining, modeling, realizing, monitoring and analyzing clinical workflows. • Or designing and developing clinical decision support (CDS) systems or tools for clinical professionals. • Clinical validation of the developed solutions in forms of the validation though the clinical practice and also clinical trials. Practical experience in setting up or conducting a clinical trial is an added value. |

Scientist of Lighting Application | • Understanding customer insights, market trend and technical trend in the lighting application area and identifying technical gaps;• Designing lighting conditions with lighting design software (Dialux and AGI32) and benchmarking with real field condition by simulations. • Apply some render software such as Maya, Photoshop, lightscape, 3D Max, Vray to simulate different lighting scenario and effect. • Designing the optical system with optical design software and benchmarking with real lighting product performance • Carrying out research projects in Adaptive Optics for the eye for the application of a better understanding of the optical properties of the myopic eye • Working cross functional within R&D to challenge & improve existing knowledge on lighting environment with corresponding technologies • Working closely with colleagues, partners and customers to develop differentiators that can fulfill the customer unmet needs; • Well communicating with business partners and delivering high quality results in the forms of patent invention, technical report, and the proof of the concept demonstrations/prototypes etc; Major challenges: • Broad understanding of norms and knowledge of various lighting applications. • Broad understanding of norms and knowledge of optical design • Understand customer insights and manage uncertainties; • Identify and discover the major technical problems along the industrial trend • Generate innovative ideas and develop technical solutions to fulfill the unmet needs. |
As a successful candidate: You will be a senior research scientist in the field of lighting application and architecture who is leading the lighting application design and experiment and find the relationship between environment and human feeling, deliver the findings to guide the solution design. • Education: Master degree on architecture lighting design, interior / exterior design, or related field of study; • Working experience: >3 years working experience in optical design, lighting application design, knowledge of architectural lighting. • Self-motivated, pro-active behavior, result oriented and quality driven; Strong problem solving skill; Good communication and presentation skills; good spoken and written English (CET level 6 or higher) and Chinese (Mandarin); quick learning ability; strong team spirit. |
Senior Optical Engineering | • Responsible of the optical design of new products according to the functional requirements, with meaningful innovation.• Optical competence building in Reasearch-LiFE. This includes maintaining an internal and external relation network on optical design/prototyping. • Support in transferring of the optical design into a mechanical design • Consults the system architect / project leader on all questions regarding optical design • Organizes prototyping of optical designs • Acts as interface towards suppliers regarding optical design |

Scientist for Ultrasound | • Design, development, and testing of ultrasound algorithm prototypes• Conduction of primary market research studies in applicable clinical environments • Translation of customer requirements into quantifiable product requirements • Prepare, conduct, and analyze simulated use studies with mock ups and models. • Support the development of production/test methodologies within the company, working closely with systems engineering functions to ensure effective transfer of new designs into production. • Create patent applications and submit publications |

Senior Clinical Research Associate | • Develop clinical trial protocols to include sound scientific procedures, accurate timelines, and complete scientific references.• Assures research site qualification and compliance to investigational plans. • Ensure the timely and accurate compilation of all study data, and compile reports to support regulatory submissions, product documentation and in support of publications. • Utilizes available tools such as Electronic data Collection (EDC) to assure timely and accurate study data collection. Manages study and site information in clinical trial Management software (CTMS) • Assumes the role of subject matter expert for all patient populations involved in assigned research activities. Maintaining and monitoring the ethical conduct of research with human participants. Monitor and report adverse events appropriately.
